Terms of Service
This page explains terms of service for visitors of Rob-in-Hood Digital. It is not marketing copy. It sets out what you agree to when you browse rob-inhood.digital, open a course page, send us a message, or enroll in a track. Read it once before you enroll — it is short, and it stays in plain English.
Rob-in-Hood Digital is an online academy for cybersecurity, DevOps, cloud, and AI careers. We publish course pages, learning pathways, and guidance for learners in the United States. These terms cover the website itself and the classroom rules that apply once you join a track.
On this page
Six short sections. The first four explain the rules that apply to everyone who opens the site. The last two explain what happens when you enroll in a track and how to reach us if you disagree with something you read here.
Terms of use
Using this site
You may read every public page on rob-inhood.digital without an account — course outlines, track comparisons, and the guides we publish for people planning a move into IT. Browsing is free, and nothing on the site is a promise of admission, employment, certification, or salary. It is information to help you choose a direction and a next step.
By using the site you agree not to break it. That means no attempts to interrupt the service, no automated scraping that strains our servers, no copying the site to republish it as your own, and no using our pages or our name to mislead other learners. We may suspend access to any account that repeatedly damages the site or other students' experience.
Course descriptions are written in good faith and may change as tools and job expectations change. If a page on this site conflicts with a signed enrollment agreement, the enrollment agreement wins.
Accounts and access
Your account, your responsibility
When you create an account you give us a working email address and accurate details. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your login, so tell us promptly at info@rob-inhood.digital if you think someone else has it.
One person, one account. Sharing a login across a team or a study group is not allowed, because course access is priced per learner and our instructors plan their feedback around a known class size. If you need seats for a group, contact us and we will arrange them properly.
Access to a track runs for the period stated on the track page when you enroll. After that period ends, your notes and any certificates you have earned remain yours, but live class access and instructor feedback stop.
Enrolled learners keep their notes and earned certificates after a track's access period ends. Live sessions and instructor feedback do not carry over.
Course content and licence
Lessons, lab guides, slide decks, exercise files, and recorded sessions belong to Rob-in-Hood Digital or to the partner whose material we are licensed to teach. Enrolling gives you a personal licence to study that material, not ownership of it.
You may
- Work through lessons and labs at your own pace, as many times as you need during your access period.
- Keep your own notes, diagrams, and scripts written while you study, and use them in your own job.
- Ask your instructor questions in the track's discussion space.
You may not
- Republish, resell, or upload course material to another platform or file-sharing service.
- Record live sessions or share your login with people who have not enrolled.
- Use our material to build a competing course or a paid training of your own.
Practical notes
- Labs run on your own machine or on a hosted environment we provide during the exercise.
- Course material is updated as tools change; an older recording may not match the current lab guide.
- Third-party tools you install carry their own licence terms, which are yours to follow.
If you spot an error in a lesson, tell your instructor. We correct material when it is wrong, and a corrected lesson does not count against your access period.
Payments and cancellations
Track fees, what they include, and any current offer are shown on the track page before you pay. We do not add charges after checkout, and we do not sell your payment details.
If you cancel within the first seven days of a track and you have not completed more than one module, write to us and we will refund the fee in full. After that window, or once you have worked through more than one module, we refund the unused portion of the track at our discretion rather than in full.
If we cancel a scheduled live session, we reschedule it. If we discontinue a track you are enrolled in, you keep access to the material already published for your cohort and we refund any fee you paid for sessions that will not run.
Refunds return to the same payment method you used. Your bank decides how long the money takes to appear, and we do not control that timing.
Learners are responsible for any tax that applies to a purchase in their own location. Where a track fee already includes tax, the track page says so.
Classroom conduct
Our tracks teach defensive and operational skills for legitimate IT work: protecting systems, building reliable infrastructure, and applying AI responsibly. Labs exist so you can practise those skills on equipment you are allowed to touch.
Treat instructors and other learners with the same courtesy you would in a workplace. Harassment, discriminatory language, and sharing other people's personal information end your access to the track.
Never point the techniques you learn at a system you do not own or have written permission to test. That includes your employer's network, a client's servers, and public services. If a lab asks you to work against a target, that target is the one we provide.
We may remove a learner from a track for breaking these rules. When that happens we refund the unused portion of the fee and close the account.
Live sessions are recorded for learners who cannot attend. If you would rather not appear in a recording, keep your camera off and use the text chat.
Changes to these terms
We update this page when our courses, our tools, or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. If a change affects an active enrollment in a meaningful way, we email enrolled learners before it takes effect.
Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the site and contact us about your enrollment.
These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why, and our Cookie Policy, which explains the cookies the site sets and how to control them.
Do I need an account to read the course pages?
No. Track outlines, the comparison guides, and the pages explaining how our courses are built are open to everyone. An account is only needed to enroll, open lab material, or join a live session.
Can my employer buy seats for a team?
Yes, and it is the better way to do it. Each learner gets their own account, and we can align the track with the tools your team already runs. Contact us with the track you have in mind and the number of people.
What happens to my work if I stop mid-track?
Your notes and finished exercises stay in your account, and you can download them. Course videos and lab environments close when your access period ends, and reopening a track later starts a new access period.
Who do I write to about a term I disagree with?
Email info@rob-inhood.digital or call +1-415-555-0192 during office hours. Describe the clause and what you think it should say, and we will answer in writing. Most questions about access, refunds, and group seats are settled that way.
