Privacy Policy

This page explains privacy policy for visitors of Rob-in-Hood Digital. It is not marketing copy. Below you will find what we collect when you browse the course catalog or write to us, why we hold it, how long it stays, and which choices remain yours.

At a glance

The short version, before the detail

Rob-in-Hood Digital runs an online academy for cybersecurity, DevOps and AI career tracks. To do that we handle a small amount of personal data: the details you type into a message form, the course pages you open, and the technical records your browser sends with every request. We use it to answer your questions, keep the site working, and understand which lessons people actually read. We do not sell it, and we do not pass it to advertising networks for their own use.

What we collect

Data you give us and data the site records

When you send a message through the contact page we receive your name, your email address, the subject you pick and whatever you write in the body of the note. If you tell us which track you are considering, we keep that too, because it shortens the reply. Nothing else is required to reach us.

Separately, our servers log the ordinary things a web request carries: the page you asked for, the time, your approximate region, your browser type and a truncated IP address. We keep those logs short and use them to spot broken links, blocked scripts and unusual traffic patterns. If you simply read the course descriptions and leave, that is the only record that exists.

Why we hold it

Answering you, running the site, improving the lessons

Replying to your questions

Your name and email exist in our inbox so we can answer, follow up once if the thread goes quiet, and keep the history straight if you write again months later about the same track.

Keeping the site available

Request logs tell us when a page fails to load or a form stops delivering. Without them we would hear about problems only after a visitor gave up and left.

Understanding the catalog

Aggregate counts of which track pages get read help us decide where to expand lesson notes. These counts are totals, not profiles of individual visitors.

Meeting our own obligations

We keep records long enough to answer a complaint, honor a request to delete, or show that we handled a message properly. After that they are removed.

Cookies

Small files, and what they are for

The site sets a small number of cookies. A session cookie keeps a form working while you fill it in. A preference cookie remembers a choice you made, such as a dismissed notice, so you are not asked twice. Measurement cookies, where they are active, are set to count page views in aggregate rather than to build an advertising profile of you. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the course pages will still read, though a form may forget what you typed if you leave mid-message.

For the full list of cookie names, their purpose and their lifetimes, see our Cookie Policy, which covers this in more detail than a privacy page should.

How long data stays, and who else sees it

Retention is deliberately short. A message from the contact page stays in our inbox for as long as the conversation needs it, and we clear routine correspondence on a rolling schedule after that. Server logs are kept for a limited window and then discarded. Aggregate page counts are kept longer because they no longer identify anyone.

A small number of service providers touch this data on our behalf, and only for the task named. Our email host carries messages between you and us. Our hosting provider stores the site and its logs. A form delivery service passes a submitted message to our inbox. Each of them is bound to use the data only for that purpose. We do not sell personal data, and we do not hand it to outside parties for their own marketing.

Contact messages

Kept while the thread is live, then cleared

Your note, our reply, and the address it came from. If you ask us to delete the thread sooner, we will.

Server logs

Short window, then discarded

Request path, timestamp, browser type, approximate region. Used to keep the site reachable and to trace faults.

Aggregate counts

Totals only, no individual profile

How many times a track page was opened. These numbers guide which lessons we expand next.

Where the data physically sits

Held in the United States, protected by ordinary practice

Our site and its records are hosted on infrastructure in the United States, which is where Rob-in-Hood Digital operates from. Access inside our team is limited to the people who answer messages and maintain the site; a shared inbox is not open to everyone.

Traffic to and from the site is encrypted in transit. Account passwords, if you ever create one, are stored in hashed form rather than as plain words. If a breach ever affected your data in a way that mattered, we would tell the people affected and describe what happened, what we did, and what to watch for.

Your choices, and how to use them

You do not need to give a reason to exercise any of these. Write from the address you used when you contacted us, say what you want done, and we will confirm once it is handled.

Ask what we hold about you

Replied to in writing

Send a request and we will describe the personal data linked to your email address: the messages we hold, when they arrived, and what we did with them. If nothing is on file, we will say so plainly.

Correct something that is wrong

Updated on request

If your name is spelled wrong, an address has changed, or a note about your track is out of date, tell us and we will fix the record rather than start a new one.

Delete your correspondence

Removed from the inbox

Ask us to remove your messages and we will delete the thread, keeping only a bare note that a deletion happened in case we need to show it was honored. Server logs expire on their own schedule and cannot be pulled forward.

Object to a particular use

Honored where it applies

If you would rather we did not keep a note about your interests, or did not follow up after a first reply, say which and we will stop that use while leaving the rest of the thread intact.

Questions this page answers

The five things visitors ask us most often when they read a policy page before writing in.

Still unsure

Call +1-415-555-0192 during business hours, or write to info@rob-inhood.digital and we will answer in the same plain language used here.

Do I have to give you any personal data to read the courses?

No. Every track page, lesson outline and course description is open. Personal data only enters the picture when you decide to write to us or submit a message through the contact form.

Will you email me about other courses?

We reply to what you asked. We may send one follow-up if a thread goes quiet and the question was left open. Beyond that, we do not add you to a mailing list without asking first, and a request to stop is honored the same day.

Is my data sold or shared with advertisers?

No. We do not sell personal data, and we do not hand it to outside parties so they can market to you. The only sharing is with the service providers named on this page, and only to run the site and deliver your message.

How do I ask for a copy of my data?

Write to us from the address you used before and ask for a copy. We will describe what is on file in writing. If nothing is on file, we will tell you that instead of sending an empty document.

What if this policy changes?

We update this page when our practice changes and note the review date at the top. A change that affects how we use your messages would be described on this page before it takes effect, not after.
